Weather in Aleppo
Curious as to what the temperature in Aleppo is? Check out our six-day Aleppo weather forecast below, as well as our detailed Aleppo weather information.
Aleppo's climate is best described as Mediterranean. Winters are short, very wet and extremely cold, while summers are hot, dry and relatively long. The hottest months of the year are from June to August. During this time, it is common for temperatures to rise to the mid 30s. However, since there is not much humidity, the weather in Aleppo continues to be rather pleasant.
January is the coldest month, with the temperature dropping to almost 5°C. However, during the day, the temperature remains comfortably warm. Sometimes, khamasins (winds bearing sand) turn the sky a deep red.
Summers in Aleppo are comparatively cooler than other regions in the east. This is mainly because humidity is minimal. On the other hand, winters can get extremely cold and wet; the heavy rains are a welcome respite to the parched land.
Perhaps, spring (March-May) with its mild weather and wildflowers in full bloom, presents the best time to visit Aleppo. By May, the winter rains have helped clear much of the haze that clouds the cities during a large part of the year. If you haven't been able to visit in spring, try to visit in autumn (September to November).
From June to mid September, summer is at its peak, with temperatures soaring high enough to make things extremely uncomfortable. Again, winter is not a good time to visit, as much of the city is covered by snow. Added to this, the winter rains can make sightseeing an almost impossible task.
