These hotels are set at Al-Jidaydah area, which is a historic area in Aleppo that is near many attractions such as the majestic Aleppo Citadel, many Aleppine historic souqs (marketplace) which have amazing hammams (oriental spa), and antique and silverware shops. This area was destroyed by Tamerlane in the 1400s. Al-Jidaydah was inhabited with Christians before the Mongol invasion. Therefore, this quarter contained historic Churches. After the former Christian inhabitants fled outside the city walls to a northwestern region of what has become part of Aleppo today, Al-Jidaydah was rebuilt by local brokers and has flourished into a highly developed quarter that has enchanting oriental palaces and courtyard houses. Many historic buildings in the Al-Jidaydah area were restored and converted to elegant museums, schools, hotels, and restaurants. This city has an eventful history.
A special traditional Aleppine cuisine (called Mazza) is served in this restaurant. This is a unique assortment of light dishes (hot and cold), salads, pickles, dips, and fresh baked bread. The list is endless and can be provided for either a first course or the whole meal. The Mazza cuisine is usually followed by a delicious grilled meat and kibbeh. Other local seasonal specialties such as meat with cherry, fish, and birds (Asafeer Al-Teen) are also served here to these 2 hotels' spoiled guests. Occidental meals are also served in this restaurant.
